Renew The Rockies

Last year Kim and I were lucky enough to attend a fundraiser party for a great local charity, Trees, Water & People.

We really enjoyed the music, Casino night, Free Beer, and the silent auction. You cant go wrong when you are helping out a great organization and you get free beer at the same time! This year's large fundraiser party theme is "Renew The Rockies" it is being held at the Lincoln Center on March 7th.

I have decided to help out this cause further by donating a painting to be auctioned off during the silent auction. I don't really know what to expect, but I hope I can help them out a little. If you are interested in a great party, a very fun evening, helping out a great cause, and possibly bidding on my painting/collage "Please toss me the ball, I love my ball" come to the Lincoln Center on the 7th... we will be there.

  1. Hi Brian,
I'm Tracy from Denver; found you via Stacey's blog. Your work is son interesting! This one is so full of life! I like the mixed media, too. That's not to say your trees aren't capturing, too!

Aside from all that, what spurred me to write was your comment about a lack of focus. I feel I'm in the same boat, though my options don't seem quite as diverse as yours. My current options are just subject matters. Without a specific exhibit on the horizon, I'm wandering a bit; sometimes walking in circles and not really getting anywhere.

Just thought I commiserate a bit. Keep creating!!

PS: My pooch of unknown origin has been deemed by some as a pit bull (i.e. death sentence in Denver). I don't exactly know what he is except the best thing in the world to me and my cat.

  2. Tracy, Yeah, I really have a hard time myself keeping the subjects in the same groupings. I know if I want a show in the near future, I will need a good set of similar images(or a family so to say).. and I jump all around. I think I am narrowing down to a few ideas, but I still get side tracked very easily... I guess in the long run, it isnt really important to stress over this, what is important is to continue being creative and if it is meant to be, then it will happen and a cohesive mix will occur. I really enjoyed your work, great dog and landscape images, you have one thing down that I just cannot.. let the brush do the work... I over analyze too much. Thanks for posting, and be sure to check back. I added your site to my bookmarks.
